Brie Bella’s last match is set to go down at WrestleMania, but she unfortunately can’t bring herself to enjoy it. For one, a still-depressed Daniel Bryan has opted not to come to Dallas, since he’s not a part of WrestleMania. For another, former Diva Maryse has come back into the fold, and some bad blood between the two resurfaces almost immediately (poor fellow newcomer Renee Young can do nothing but get out of their way in an awkward dinner argument). And, finally, Nikki Bella straight-up accuses Brie (and everyone else, for that matter) of overlooking her pain in favor of pitying Bryan. It’s all very stressful. But it turns out great when Brie goes out with a bang by winning the 10-Diva Tag Team Match, and Nikki, upon catching a glimpse of the new WWE Women’s Championship, vows to return stronger than ever to take the title for herself.
Nikki Bella vs. Carmella ends in a No Contest
Nikki Bella and Carmella unleashed on one another, both, clearly, with something to prove ahead of teaming together at Survivor Series this Sunday. The Princess of Staten Island more than held her own against Fearless Nikki, viciously targeting Bella’s neck. However, they both were met with the entrance of Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, sporting a purchased ticket, to the front row of the crowd. The arrival of The Queen definitely took both by surprise; however the SmackDown LIVE Women’s Survivor Series Team members remained focused on the task currently in front of them.
Yet, Charlotte’s presence at ringside was too much for Nikki to ignore, spontaneously forearming The Queen, thus throwing the match out. Charlotte and Nikki began to brawl, when the rest of the Raw Women’s Team quickly ran out to ambush the now prone Bella. Though, somewhat surprisingly, Carmella came to the aid of her greatest rival, and then the rest of the SmackDown Women’s Team followed as well.
A huge and raucous brawl then ensued that saw Nia Jax go slamming through the barricade, Naomi soaring through the air onto Team Raw and all 10 Superstars proving that they were more than ready for the challenge that awaits them on Sunday.
With the 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Women’s Elimination Match team captain Nikki Bella at ringside on commentary, Bella’s teammate, Naomi, took on team coach Natalya.
However, Nikki’s longstanding rival, Carmella, soon emerged to cause havoc with Fearless Nikki. Coach Natalya rushed outside the ring and tried to break it up, even introducing a very coach-like whistle, but Nikki subsequently shoved her down, before giving a nasty forearm to Carmella. At this point, The Queen of Harts was up and had to race to beat the referee’s 10-count, which she did … but then, amid the commotion, found herself caught in a rollup by Naomi, giving the Glow the victory.
As Kathy and John Laurinaitis’ wedding approaches on the Total Bellas’ season finale, Brie Bella is back in the family fold. Bryan is sitting the wedding out on the advice of his doctors, but the family reunion puts a spring in Nikki Bella’s step — at least for a while. What begins as shared joy over Kathy’s non-diagnosis at the women’s clinic turns hostile when Nikki floats the idea to Brie, once again, that she is deferring too much to Bryan at the expense of her own happiness. That leads to a knock-down fight between the Bella Twins that is thankfully resolved by the time Kathy says “I do.” But it’s clear the divide between Brie, who’s married and on the cusp of motherhood, and Nikki, who is not, is growing a little wider than either is comfortable with.
After the wedding bells have rung and the rice has been cleaned up, it’s time for Nikki to get a check-up from her doctor. And the results, while not as good as she’d hoped, per se, are still good. Her neck has healed to the point where Nikki is cleared to be a part of WrestleMania, though she cannot quite step back into the ring yet. So she has Sandra the seamstress pay her a house visit to get some new gear together in preparation for the big show. And so Total Bellas Season 1 comes to an end, and Total Divas picks up the ball next week at 8/7 CT on E!. Stay tuned for more …
In happier news, it’s time for the Bellas to get their wedding on! The marriage of Kathy and Big Johnny goes off, remarkably, without a hitch, save for a brief panic over Johnny being late while he and Brie work on perfecting her “Yes!” Lock technique for WrestleMania. The happy couple are married and, in one of the most emotional moments of the episode, Johnny tells the assembled Bella family how truly happy he is to be among them. It’s actually very sweet.
