Sick of the rumors surrounding the attack on Nikki Bella at Survivor Series, Natalya asked the Fearless Superstar to come to the ring. Before they could get a word out, however, Carmella decided to join the party. And when The Princess of Staten Island started firing away with all the things she claimed Nattie said about Nikki, the agitated Queen of Harts got so wrapped up in it that she accidently confirmed the things Carmella was saying were true.
After chasing the instigator up the ramp and hurling her into the Christmas tree on the SmackDown LIVE set, Natalya admitted that she had, in fact, attacked Nikki at Survivor Series and added insult to injury by hurling her with insults and saying that John Cena would never marry her.
With the controversy over who actually attacked Nikki Bella at Survivor Series still raging, Natalya attempted to diffuse Carmella’s claims that it was her before the match began by addressing Nikki (who was on commentary). The Princess of Staten Island quickly cut that off though, making her way to the ring to get the contest rolling.
The Queen of Harts would not be deterred, however, still trying to plead her case to Fearless Nikki even while wrestling the match. However, a questionable moment came when Natalya, trying to reason with Nikki on the outside shoved The Fearless One. Whether or not she was shoving her out of the way of Carmella or simply shoving her is a mystery.
All of these distractions for Natalya, however, led to Carmella taking advantage, finding a three count with a roll up for the victory.
Following Carmella’s accusation at WWE TLC that it was actually Natalya who attacked Nikki Bella at Survivor Series, The Queen of Harts challenged The Princess of Staten Island to a fight on SmackDown Live.
Carmella ran down Natalya’s character which prompted Natalya to aggressively attack her before the bell could ever ring. Carmella then bolted, which prompted Natalya to chase her to the backstage where she ran into Nikki Bella.
Nikki stared daggers into Natalya and although Natalya began to try and explain Fearless Nikki would have none of it and just coldly stormed off.
The battle was punishing, but Nikki Bella remained ”Fearless” in the face of her No Disqualification Match with Carmella, earning the victory at WWE TLC after connecting with the Rack Attack 2.0. However, in the aftermath of their battle, The Princess of Staten Island revealed that the Superstar responsible for attacking Nikki at Survivor Series wasn’t whom she expected.
Still bearing a big bruise around her right eye from Nikki’s attack this past Tuesday on SmackDown Live, Carmella wasted no time in ensuring Bella would have a few welts of her own, sending her rival knee-first into the steel ring steps. The Princess of Staten Island focused her assault on the injured leg, including smashing it with a kendo stick. She nearly had the victory wrapped up with the Code of Silence, but she left the kendo stick within Nikki’s grasp, allowing Bella to grab it and clobber “Princess Mella” with the weapon.
The battle spilled to ringside, where Nikki took to the air, diving off the ringside barricade to clock Carmella with a brutal spinning kick. And when Carmella looked to be getting back into the fight, Bella surprised The Princess of Staten Island with a fire extinguisher, spraying Carmella around the squared circle before hitting the Rack Attack 2.0 to win this No Disqualification brawl.
However, Carmella was not about to let Nikki celebrate. She picked up a mic and revealed that she wasn’t behind the blindside attack Bella suffered at Survivor Series, claiming that the assault was the work of Nikki’s “Total Divas” co-star, Natalya. Earlier in the evening, the third-generation Superstar posted a tweet wishing Nikki good luck, along with a photo of the two together. Was it genuine, or is Natalya hiding how she truly feels?
Nikki Bella reached her breaking point with Carmella
The world is an ever-changing place, but one constant will seemingly always remain: Carmella can instigate something fierce.
Carmella first got the ire of Nikki Bella when she came out and began disrespecting both the Bella Twin and her boyfriend, John Cena. This prompted Nikki to rush out and wildly attack Carmella. After taking the brunt of the punishment, The Princess of Staten Island was able to get out of dodge … for now.
There will be nowhere to run and no disqualifications to save either Superstar this Sunday when they face off at WWE TLC in a No Disqualification Match.
Nikki Bella vs. Carmella ends in a No Contest
Nikki Bella and Carmella unleashed on one another, both, clearly, with something to prove ahead of teaming together at Survivor Series this Sunday. The Princess of Staten Island more than held her own against Fearless Nikki, viciously targeting Bella’s neck. However, they both were met with the entrance of Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair, sporting a purchased ticket, to the front row of the crowd. The arrival of The Queen definitely took both by surprise; however the SmackDown LIVE Women’s Survivor Series Team members remained focused on the task currently in front of them.
Yet, Charlotte’s presence at ringside was too much for Nikki to ignore, spontaneously forearming The Queen, thus throwing the match out. Charlotte and Nikki began to brawl, when the rest of the Raw Women’s Team quickly ran out to ambush the now prone Bella. Though, somewhat surprisingly, Carmella came to the aid of her greatest rival, and then the rest of the SmackDown Women’s Team followed as well.
A huge and raucous brawl then ensued that saw Nia Jax go slamming through the barricade, Naomi soaring through the air onto Team Raw and all 10 Superstars proving that they were more than ready for the challenge that awaits them on Sunday.
With the 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Women’s Elimination Match team captain Nikki Bella at ringside on commentary, Bella’s teammate, Naomi, took on team coach Natalya.
However, Nikki’s longstanding rival, Carmella, soon emerged to cause havoc with Fearless Nikki. Coach Natalya rushed outside the ring and tried to break it up, even introducing a very coach-like whistle, but Nikki subsequently shoved her down, before giving a nasty forearm to Carmella. At this point, The Queen of Harts was up and had to race to beat the referee’s 10-count, which she did … but then, amid the commotion, found herself caught in a rollup by Naomi, giving the Glow the victory.
Alexa Bliss & Carmella def. Becky Lynch & Nikki Bella
SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch teamed with the captain of the Team Blue Women’s Survivor Series team, Nikki Bella, to take on their biggest threats, No. 1 contender Alexa Bliss and Carmella, in an action-packed contest.
With Lynch and Bliss’ SmackDown Women’s Championship Match in Glasgow, Scotland, only a week away, both women came in clearly looking to make a statement. Moreover, Bella and Carmella just wanted to continue to scrap it out as they’ve been doing for months now on Team Blue.
The two tandems went back and forth until Bliss was ultimately able to pull out a victory, defeating Lynch with a DDT after coyly gouging Lynch in the eyes.
After the contest, Carmella confidently proclaimed that she, not Nikki, would lead Team SmackDown LIVE to victory over Team Raw at WWE Survivor Series and Bliss boldly stated that she would defeat Lynch for the SmackDown Women’s Championship next week. And, on this night, it was hard to argue with either.
