After months of verbal assaults, blindside attacks and raucous brawls, Nikki Bella and Natalya will finally settle the score when they face off in a Falls Count Anywhere Match next week on SmackDown LIVE.
The match announcement was spurred on by SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan after the two Superstars got into another scrap, this time in Bryan’s office. Realizing that this issue could not continue much longer without some serious and dangerous repercussions, Bryan scheduled for the two to compete in a Falls Count Anywhere Match next week on Team Blue.
Who will come out the winner in one of WWE’s most unpredictable contests? Find out next week on SmackDown LIVE!
Jealousy has brought about the demise of many a good friendship. Count Nikki Bella and Natalya among them. In an attempt to settle matters, the two clashed inside the ring at WWE Elimination Chamber. Their intensely personal rivalry would not be resolved, however, as their match ended in a double count-out.
Tensions between these two stretch back almost two months, when The Queen of Black Harts finally admitted it was she who attacked Nikki backstage prior to her match at Survivor Series. The motive? Apparently, Natalya was jealous of the attention Nikki has been receiving, both in and out of the ring.
Since that admission, Natalya has been mocking Nikki, claiming that she’s the better wrestler. And for a while there at Elimination Chamber, she was making a strong case. In between a series of impressively strong maneuvers, Natalya could hardly contain her disdain, mocking Nikki’s boyfriend, John Cena, by mimicking his “U Can’t See Me” hand gesture and even going so far as to taunt Nikki’s mother, who was looking on from the front row inside Phoenix’s Talking Stick Resort Arena.
When the action spilled outside the ring, however, the fighting became so fierce that neither woman took note of the referee’s 10-count, essentially disqualifying both Superstars. The rivalry would not end there, though, as Nikki would spear Natalya as she walked up the ramp, signaling that the bad blood between these two will continue to run deep.
Phillips welcomed Nikki Bella and Natalya, and noted that they were in separate locations due to how personal their feud has become. He asked if they could become friends again. Nikki said the Natttie she knows and loves is dead to her. Natalya said they were never friends, and Nikki only has followers.
Nikki said Natalya is making things up in her head and has become a crazy cat lady. Natalya said she would put Nikki on the shelf. Nikki said the truth that the only thing Natalya was ever good at was wrestling. She asked what Natalya will do once Nikki beats her on Sunday. Natalya said John Cena is champion and won’t have time to nurse her back to health this time. Natalya said John Cena will move on to another woman who is better than Nikki. Natalya said Cena would probably end up with her if she wasn’t married. Nikki walked off the interview set.
A recap was given of last week’s events between Nikki and Natalya. Backstage, some security guys walked up and gave an all clear. Natalya then walked in, and asked Daniel Bryan why she was there. Nikki Bella then walked in, and they started bickering. Bryan finally screamed “enough” and said he was making a match between them at Elimination Chamber.
I’ll have screencaps later today.
Alexa Bliss is now feeling the heat — and, dare we say, the glow — courtesy of a breakout performance from Naomi on the Royal Rumble Kickoff.
Long pegged by the WWE Universe as a champion-in-waiting, the Total Divas star made her biggest statement yet in the Six-Woman Tag Team Match that opened the Kickoff portion. The bout, a conflagration of SmackDown LIVE’s various rivalries, started off in fairly-expected fashion with Natalya going nose-to-nose with a newly raven-haired Nikki Bella. Yet things quickly got mixed-and-matched when Becky Lynch, Nikki and Naomi joined forces for a triple suplex of Bliss, Natalya & Mickie James. Naomi then delivered the first big solo moment of the match, executing a cross body to all three of her team’s foes on the outside.
James, making her WWE pay-per-view return, helped to neutralize Lynch following Naomi’s acrobatics., She set Becky up for a Dungeon-style submission onslaught from Natalya, then booting her from behind the ref’s back when Alexa tagged in to play cleanup. Thanks to some strategy from Natalya that took Naomi and Nikki off the apron, The Irish Lass Kicker soon found herself stranded and at Bliss’ mercy … until she managed to tag in a fresh Naomi. The onetime Funkadactyl immediately took flight. With a timely assist from her teammates — a Bexploder Suplex to Mickie and a Bella spear to Natalya — she finally capped off the effort with a split-legged moonsault to Bliss, leaving her team to bask in the glow while Alexa found herself looking up at the lights.
Natalya attacked Nikki as she was being interviewed while entering the arena. Later in the show, Nikki attacked Natalya backstage before her match with Naomi.
Later, a Six Woman Tag Team Match was announced for the Royal Rumble. Becky, Naomi, and Nikki will take on Alexa Bliss, Mickie James, and Natalya.
After their explosive exchange last week, Nikki Bella called Natalya out in the ring, declaring she wanted to finish what they started. However, The Queen of Black Harts did not step foot in the arena, instead opting to ridicule Fearless Nikki, first from the crowd and then while stationed in front of the merchandise stand in the arena.
Nikki eventually became fed up and dashed to the concourse to scrap it out with Natalya where security had to separate the Superstars after they completely wrecked the area.
(Screencaps later today!)
Prior to their highly-personal scheduled match getting under way, Natalya attacked Nikki Bella backstage. This left Nikki in a fit of rage, causing her to lunge at Natalya before the bell could even officially ring on their match. Fearless Nikki went berserk on The Queen Harts for a period of time until Natalya was able to pry away from the security trying to separate the Superstars, connect with a blindside chop block to Nikki and then lock in the Sharpshooter.
Natalya eventually relinquished the Sharpshooter, but not before doing a ton of damage in the process.
Nikki Bella and Natalya’s war of words continued as the two spiraled into deeper hostility as they slung insults each other’s way on SmackDown LIVE.
The Queen of Harts continued to question Nikki’s values and ascent while Fearless Nikki implied that Natalya was only where she was in WWE because of her uncle, WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart. This escalated into Natalya claiming she is better than her uncle and that one day Nikki’s boyfriend John Cena would leave her and that she would die alone.
Those were indeed fighting words, as Nikki hauled off on Natalya with a huge forearm, knocking Natalya down and out.
Nikki Bella was interviewed backstage, and she said she’s proud of her accomplishments in the ring, her reality show, and her relationship her man. She said she would say what she needed to say to Natalya to her face.
“You know Dasha, I’m not ashamed of who I am. The more success you achieve, the more people want to knock you down. I became the longest reigning Divas champion by working my tail off every single night, and I came back from a career threatening neck injury in less than 10 months. And it wasn’t because of my looks. It was because of my determination. And you know what, I am damn proud of being a part of two hit reality tv shows, and most importantly, I am madly in love with the man of my dreams.”
